InfraTec GmbH was founded 1991 in Dresden / Germany and remains the headquarters for worldwide distribution. The privately held company has two business units - one manufactures and markets infrared components (pyroelectric detectors) and the other one infrared cameras. We operate in the B2B wholesale market with industrial applications.
After 30 years in business the number of permanent employees worldwide now exceeds 250. We have been operating a small but successful U.S. subsidiary since 2007 to manage the sales activities in the North American market.
Starting as soon as possible, we are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Administrative (Office) Assistant and Inside Sales Representative to assist with sales and administrative work to support the sales efforts of the US subsidiary. This position requires a candidate who can seamlessly switch between administrative tasks, provide outstanding customer service, and contribute to sales efforts. The ideal candidate will be self-organized, customer-focused, possess excellent communication skills, works with little supervision and is available 30 - 40 hours per week, working from home within the Houston (TX) area. The candidate should be willing to undergo a job training at InfraTec’s headquarters in Dresden, Germany for approximately 3 weeks.
1. Administrative Support:
Assist with general business administration tasks
Aid communication between German headquarters and the US subsidiary
Act as liaison with OSPs (outsourced service providers)
Interface to external Accounting, Tax Service and Finance Department of InfraTec HQ
Ensures compliance with legal business requirements, local customs and insurance needs
Assist with business travel organization & expense report administration
Assist with organizing trade shows & conference and attend those at times
2. Customer Service/ Inside Sales:
Interface to the sales departments of the InfraTec HQ in Germany and support of the local sales engineers
Support and follow up of customer inquiries for both business units such as:
Outbound lead follow up
Follow up customer inquiries
After successful training period, takeover of selected clients conceivable
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all customer interactions
Associates Degree in Applied Sciences/ Business or High School diploma with at least 3 years of related work experience (Bachelor’s degree is a plus)
Basic accounting skills (US GAAP) preferred
Bilingual (English/German) preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational and time management skills
US work authorization (we do not sponsor any type of work visa for this position)
